"What Are You Doing Right Now?"
My ambitions can be seen as idealistic, but exploring one's imagination is how dreams become reality. Let me introduce the organizations I am drawing inspiration from now.
Relevant Social Services
Salvation Army
Bolstering Community Outreach
This organization provides access to a safe space for the downtrodden of society, and a diverse array of services including, but not limited to, Youth Nights, Early Childhood Education, Young Adult Mentorship, Open Gyms, Martial Arts and Music instruction, Feeding Programs, Internships, Mobile Markets, Food Pantry and Clothing services, and Worship services within their Chapel. As a legislator, I can push for legislation that combats food waste and puts said food in the hands of this organization, the distribution of which can be executed in public events. This will bring job opportunities to for nutritionists and commercial drivers, as well as volunteer hours for students in the form of serving and repackaging goods.
What I desire to do right now is partner with Transportation Services to not only bring people in this district to the shelter in East St Louis, but to give homeless people and lower income households access to these goods even if their location and situations restrict their ability to travel. That, I can do without changing the laws. I will advocate on behalf of this organization, volunteer with them, and speak to leaders of the community and the state, as well as other nonprofit and charity organizations. In doing so, I will assure that the people of this community have resources to help them through their struggle. The fact that you're reading this gives me the motivation to get this done. Thank you for your time.

A Brighter Tomorrow
My Own Nonprofit
I established a nonprofit after realizing the importance of connections. Being a veteran, I have connections to the Scott VFW and VetBiz, but as an active community member, I have connected with the Alzheimer's Association, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the American Cancer Society, and a plethora of other nonprofits that I could actively enrich.
I am also a Toastmaster, a United Nations member, a Rotarian, and the President of this area's chapter of the Varo Business Alliance (a national networking organization that is attempting to expand and is just now hitting the Metro East through me). I have also applied for multiple boards in my area. In short, I know many people, and am learning more every day. That's why I attached a business to my name: so I will have something substantial to nurture and develop as I become better at connecting people and spreading benevolence.
This organization aims to bring its central focus to light in the general populace. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and my aim for such a cause is to not only bring about that awareness, but to fully represent the month in our community. During September, we desire Childhood Cancer Awareness posters, flyers, and even community gatherings to share information about the concept and fundraise for treatment and research. The more our community can collectively learn, the more capable we are to combat childhood cancer and give those affected by such greater opportunities to thrive in spite of any related hardships.
